Our Treatments

D-Clinic aims to provide the highest standards of clinical excellence whilst ensuring every patient feels fully cared for before, during and after treatment.

The satisfaction and well-being of our patients is the cornerstone of our practice.

Patients are consulted and rigorously assessed before any treatment is proposed. Anxieties and concerns relating to the treatment are also handled sensitively and to suit the needs of the patient.

For all treatments we take an evidence-based surgical approach, employing techniques and materials that have been thoroughly studied and tested. All procedures are performed by Dr. Dragisic, a highly experienced oral surgeon.

Throughout the process we ensure every patient has access to our team when needed.

Oral Medicine

In oral medicine we are concerned with the oral health care of patients with chronic, recurrent and medically related disorders of the oral and maxillofacial region.

  • Persistent oro facial pain is a chronic (long term) pain condition in which continuous, deep pain is felt on the face or in the mouth. The cause of the condition is not fully known. The pain lasts a long time, is difficult to treat and is not usually eased by common pain killers e.g. paracetamol . When the face, mouth or jaws are examined, no disease or abnormality is found. Persistent oro facial pain is an uncommon condition. Our Oral Medicine Specialist, Professor Stefano Fedele specialises in the diagnosis and management of this condition.

  • Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a condition in which an area of jawbone is not covered by the gums. The condition must last for more than eight weeks to be called ONJ. When the bone is left uncovered, it does not receive blood and begins to die. ONJ most often develops after an invasive (surgical) dental procedure such as dental extraction. ONJ also may occur spontaneously over boney growths in the roof or inner parts of the mouth.

ONJ is associated with cancer treatments (including radiation), infection, steroid use, or antiresorptive medications used for osteoporosis. ONJ is much more common in those patients who use bisphosphonates for cancer of the bone treatment. When used for osteoporosis in much lower doses, it is very rare. Our specialist in Oral Medicine, Professor Stefano Fedele, has researched and authored several publications on the this condition.

Medicine

Although medicine has succeeded in extending life, the ratio between healthy and sick years has remained unchanged. This is precisely what longevity medicine is about. It is primarily about improving the quality of life. Those who are ill can focus on restoring health, those who are healthy can optimize their state of health. Therapies are only successful if they are tailored to the individual and personalized. To do this, the condition and functioning of the organs are measured beforehand. The aim is to obtain an overall picture of the person using these biomarkers, the methods that have long been used in dermatology as the skin is a visible organ that shapes our appearance. The fact that all other organs also age is neglected. After the recurring collection of relevant biomarkers, these are compared with a genetic risk profile in order to then determine the best possible therapy.

The latest studies show that the mouth is as important to general health as the intestines, which is why dentistry is embracing the approach. Computer-based analyses can protect patients from future tooth loss and expensive treatments.

  • Identification of potential risk factors informing personalized prevention strategies.

  • Regular tests to monitor inflammatory markers, cholesterol levels, blood sugar and other relevant health indicators.

  • Regulating hormones in the aging process through adequate interventions.

  • Prevention and early intervention screening for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

Technology

At our practice you will receive courteous and timely service in an unhurried, relaxed atmosphere. We have combined state of the art technology with a modern aesthetic to create a space focused on patient comfort.

Whilst the clinical experience and expert skills of an oral surgeon are key to a successful treatment outcome, judicious use of cutting-edge technology can complement diagnosis and shorten the treatment duration.

High definition 3D digital imaging and modelling techniques provide us with high-quality information on the patient’s facial features, allowing surgeon, in consultation with the patient, to develop a well informed and precise treatment plan.

Surgical modelling and the creation of a surgical guide also allow for important treatment decisions to be made prior to surgery, and optimal use of time during surgery, resulting in a smoother, faster surgical procedure and increased patient comfort.

Our partners

At D-Clinic each patient is seen for an initial consultation, at which a thorough examination is carried out, and any appropriate diagnostic investigations (eg: x-rays) are made.

The patient is then given an initial diagnosis and, if straightforward, a treatment plan is suggested. If necessary, the patient is recalled for further investigations, such as the taking of impressions and making of diagnostic study models.

Our Fees

The cost of any further investigations is explained to the patient.

If the treatment is more complex, the patient is sent a written estimate, explaining the treatment and outlining the costs, and the payment terms. Estimates are always sent before any treatment is commenced.

Referrals and self referrals

We accept walk in patients, as well as referrals from colleagues in all fields of dentistry and medicine including on an emergency basis.
